First and foremost, we aim to operate a safe, inclusive space. We don’t have a formal code of conduct, but we do have an informal policy of “treat everyone with the same kindness and respect you would want to receive”.
We don’t accept work or comments that are discriminatory or abusive, or otherwise make people feel unsafe in the group. For example, we will challenge any instances of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and other forms of discrimination and harassment. We welcome writing which explores these prejudices, but not writing which embodies them.
We will refuse attendance to any member who repeatedly violates this policy. The decision of the organisers is final.
If at any point you have any concerns at all, or ever feel uncomfortable, please contact either Jenny or Fae or both at [email protected]. We will be happy to discuss any issues in private and will work to make sure we find a solution.
We ask everyone to:
Treat everyone with kindness and respect
Contribute to the group by offering constructive feedback and support to others, and engaging in discussions and exercises
Include content warnings at the start of pieces containing sensitive topics (including but not limited to sexual assault, self harm, suicidal thoughts, or prejudice/discrimination) so all members can choose what they engage with. If you're unsure if you need to include a warning, feel free to err on the side of caution or just ask at [email protected]
